Section 508 Document Conversion / Remediation

Written by tubaboy on . Posted in Uncategorized

Our main business is document preparation, through our fully-owned subsidiary, Electronic Document Compliance Services:

Electronic Document Compliance Services does one thing extremely well, and fast: remediate and deliver documents compliant with Section 508.

US Government code Section 508 and the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) have established requirements for document accessibility. Any electronic documents maintained, procured, or used by the U.S. Federal government must meet these guidelines.

Electronic Document Compliance Services employs  Federally certified 508 document specialists for all of our preparation and remediation jobs, following industry best practices and using the latest technology. We complete the process by manually reviewing documents to ensure complete compliance.

My name is Chris Frank – I’m a long-time Carrboro, NC resident, a musician and for the last 12 years the operator of an online nonprofit supporting folk music,  efolkMusic.org.

My experience developing the efolkMusic site led me to creating websites for a number of individuals and organizations, and I’ve learned a few things along the way. For many groups, the website is their “window to the world”, and quite frankly, a lot of websites that have been around for awhile are looking a little dated, more like knitting sites from 1999 than modern, interactive “web 2.0″ applications.

Luckily, websites that used to cost thousands can now be built for a fraction of that, thanks to a lot of great work by open source developers. I believe your website could be a more effective tool than it currently is, and that modest “job-creating” investment made now will put you into the best position for the future.
What’s great about these “new” kinds of sites is that they are based on “content management systems”, with dynamic information from databases rather than static display pages, AND they are easily maintained and updated by your organization’s own people, no gatekeeper/webmaster needed.

I have created more than 50 websites. Please take a look efolkMusic.org, or my band’s site www.redclayramblers.com, or view a list of active sites to the right.  if you like what you see, drop me a line and I’ll be glad to talk with you.

Regards,
Chris Frank
